Wiltrout Sales, Inc. is a manufacturers representative agency founded in 1984 by Tom Wiltrout with the idea of creating an agency whose integrity and effort are unmatched in the industry.
Our main office is located in Indianapolis and our territory includes the entire states of Indiana and Kentucky as well as other strategic areas at the request of the manufacturers that we represent.
How We Do It
We sell exclusively through wholesale distributors who serve the electrical, utility, voice/data/video, mechanical and HVAC markets. These distributors are contacted by our sales staff, both in person and by telephone, on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis. In order to direct business toward the distributors, we also call on contractors, engineers, systems integrators, OEMs, specifiers, and end users.
Outside salespeople are assigned specific geographic territories so that they can be experts in those markets. Inside salespeople are assigned individual lines so that they can become product experts. Our inside and outside salespeople then work together to provide unparalleled service and opportunities for our marketing partners.
We believe in constantly improving the agency and ourselves. In order to accomplish this we utilize many internal and external training programs as well as any training programs offered by our manufacturers. Everyone at Wiltrout Sales is motivated and compensated based on the agency’s performance to meet our aggressive sales goals and is driven by our company goal to “Exceed expectations in everything we do.”

Our agency is a member of the National Electrical Manufacturers Representatives Association (NEMRA), The Electric League of Indiana (ELI), and the Manufacturers’ Representatives Educational Research Foundation (MRERF), Certified Professional M.R.(CPMR). Because we believe so strongly in professionalism we actively support and participate in these professional associations and expect our marketing partners to do the same.
Wiltrout Sales continually reinvests in our communications and information technology. We utilize common and industry specific software which, along with high speed internet and VOIP capabilities, gives our inside and outside sales staff instant access to all of our customer and manufacturer information and history as well as all of the projects and opportunities that are in our pipeline.
